When you got a bunch of Autism Speaks shirts in a box, what do you do?
If you are against Ableist Organizations, or Oppose Organizations who uses fear and Hate Mongering, you would put the shirts in a metal pot, get flamable Liquid, and organize a shirt burning.
for Example, this is a whole box of Autism Speaks T-shirts, Autism Speaks is this Organization that claims to help people with Autism.
However, They have no Autistic Leaders, the closets to an Autism Leader, John Edler Robinson, and he Resigned from his Position after he was being Secluded from meetings pertaining to Autism.
this Organization Also has Secluded us Autistic Adults for leading Charters or even being on the board (even after AS Promised the Autism Community that they would allow Autistics to have leadership roles in their organization 4 years ago.), They even openly turned away Every Resume from the Autism Adults
and they still are promoting a "Cure", which most of the Autism Community does not want, yet if they Actually listened to the Autism Community, They would have stopped this Non-sense. In Fact, The Autism Community finds the talk of a "Cure" to be very-Insensitive to us.
Statistics show that the only people who Actually Supports Autism Speaks, is the Parents of young Children, the problem is, that they follow a false perception that Autism is a burden. Thanks to the Hurtful Advertisements done by the Ableist group known as Autism Speaks.
the ones who dont Support this Organization are: Parents with Older Autism Children, They know that Autism Speaks does not help, and the Older Autistic kids Agree.
and Autism Adults are the other Group that doesnt Support the Organization, Most of these people Even are involved in the Autism Rights Movement.
That is also very Ironic, That the Organization that claims to Support people with Autism, are being protested by Autism Adults. and it is the Majority that Protest against Autism Speaks.
Ironicly, Autism Speaks claims that the Autism Rights Activist are "Ignorant and Misguided", and Yet when Autistics make parodies of their websites and organization, they are very quick to sue us.
For Example, a 14 year old Autistic Girl, she made a Parody website call "NT speaks" and AS filed a Lawsuit against her for "misusing their logo". but the Reality is, Autism Speaks had no Legal Ground against her as parodying a website is legal in the US.
So, if you have an AS shirt, and you want to get rid of it, organize a shirt burning.
